Voyage Specialist Healthcare accelerates growth plans with new MD

A Hartlepool-based specialist care provider is bucking the national trend for downsizing following the recruitment of a new Managing Director.

In response to growing demand for its services, Voyage Specialist Healthcare has appointed Mo Nazir as its new Managing Director.

An experienced healthcare professional with both NHS and private sector expertise, Mr Nazir will be responsible for driving forward the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Operating throughout the North of England and employing more than 170 people, Voyage Specialist Healthcare provides high quality, home-based nursing for adults and children with acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries and other complex neurological conditions. The company currently delivers over 3,000 hours of nursing care per week to approximately 80 individuals and it is part of the Voyage Care Group.

“As pressure on the NHS increases, the provision of home-based specialist nursing care is becoming a more appealing and viable option for commissioners and end users alike,” said Mr Nazir.

“Voyage Specialist Healthcare understands exactly what’s required when it comes to delivering high quality care in people’s own homes. Our experienced team of adult and paediatric nurses is already supporting more than 80 people living between Morecambe and Hartlepool and without question we’re making a significant, positive difference to their lives.”

Most recently employed by Newham Health Partnership, a first wave pathfinder clinical commissioning group (CCG) covering 53 practices and around 280,000 patients, Mr Nazir is well versed in helping organisations develop and deliver their strategic growth plans. He has also worked with several global pharmaceutical firms, including Sanofi-Aventis and GlaxoSmithKline.

Commenting on his new role with Voyage Specialist Healthcare, Mr Nazir said: “Going forward, we’re looking to expand the range of services we offer and our aim is to continue providing quality care that not only meets the needs of the individuals we support, but also their families and healthcare professionals.

“We have an experienced, dedicated team in place and I’m confident we have the necessary skills to succeed in this challenging marketplace.”
